- Bayern is likely to rest Harry Kane and Michael Olise to keep them fit for the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Borussia Dortmund next weekend.

- Leipzig has conceded 11 goals to Bayern in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, losing 6-0 on the opening match and 5-1 at home in the reverse fixture. The Lawnballers also fell 2-0 to the Bavarians in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals.
- Leipzig’s best finish to a Bundesliga season is second place, in 2016/17 and 2020/21.
- Martín Demichelis, the Leipzig coach, is a former Bayern player who turned out for the club from 2003 to 2010.
