SIOUX CITY, IA (KCAU) – The next group up for Two-A-Days is the E-Hawks out of Emmetsburg.
Finishing their season with a 6-3 record in the first round of the 1A playoffs, the E-Hawks look to keep up the momentum with younger guys stepping into bigger roles.
“Tradition matters, and we have a very strong tradition at Emmetsburg. You know when the young kids see it. They know they can have success; it takes hard work, dedication, and determination. I think if that continues, then most of the kids that are going to see that will reflect that. They are going to try and put that into action as well,” explained head coach Ben Thomsen.
Senior lineman Jovani Barragan-Peters added, “Especially with the younger kids, they have been taking a step up. They have been doing the extra stuff; they have been getting the extra reps. We have just been doing a great job at stepping up as a whole team.”
Emmetsburg takes the field for the first time against Estherville Lincoln Central on August 28th! The E-Hawks have won the last two meetings and look to get their season started on the right foot with a third straight win!
