Dean McDonald says…

I can’t look past Brian Brobbey.

Clearly our first-choice striker, he’ll likely play most Premier League as well as European games, and after a full pre-season and no injury worries, he should be fit and firing from the off. He got seven goals last season and didn’t start a match until November, if memory serves.

I can see double figures in the league and a good few in Europe as well, taking him over fifteen in all competitions.

John Wade says…

I honestly think Enzo Le Fée is going to add more goals to his game, playing off Brian Brobbey this season.

His decent return last season was hampered by playing out wide for a large portion of the season and if, as expected, he plays in the ten position whenever possible, I think he’ll add plenty of goals. Add to that he’s on penalties at least some of the time (Habib Diarra didn’t miss one last term but he wasn’t convincing with any of them) and he could be our top scorer.

And at £6 million, these are the exact reasons he’s nailed on in my FPL starting line up for opening day and beyond.

John Wilson says…

It depends on how much game time each player gets.

I’m presuming before the season starts that Brian Brobbey will make more appearances than Wilson Isidor, but from a pure stance of who takes their chances better, I would plump for Isidor.

He has a talent for scoring the unpredictable and sniffing out a chance, and his speed also is often overlooked. So given a fair crack of the whip, I’d say he could top the charts.

Owen Sara says…

Pretty obvious answer, but Brian Brobbey.

Pre-season has shown we are willing to get more runners off and in and around him, and this will suit him to a tee. Brobbey had a fantastic World Cup for Holland and we have enough quality — especially with the addition of Thomas Meunier — to give him adequate service.

We’re clearly going to look to play on the front foot a lot more, will help with this too.

Although he’s slightly behind on pre season fitness after the World Cup, playing a part in all of Holland’s games will have helped his case in regards to fitness and sharpness. He’s unlikely to play the Europa League games, especially early on in the competition, but if he does play, that competition will suit him to a tee.

He got seven goals during a season in which he wasn’t really fully fit until November, so with potentially fifty-plus games to come, I can see him bagging a healthy amount of goals.

Ricky Clucas says…

It seems fairly likely we’ll be going into the season with Brian Brobbey and Wilson Isidor as our only strikers, and logic suggests Brobbey will get more minutes and potentially more goals.

I can’t shake the feeling that Isidor just absolutely reeks of the Europa League and will fill his boots against FC Espradrille and Lokomotive Pétanque, so it might be a closer-run thing than I’d intially thought.

I’ll go for Brobbey. Just. As we’ll maybe play to his strengths a bit more this season.

Tom Albrighton says…

I’m going to flip the script here slightly and deviate from the question, given it seems clear Brobbey and Isidor will be our main — if not sole — focal points this season. That isn’t a negative and may make for a compelling two horse race for the title of leading scorer, but makes this hard to flesh out.

Instead I’ll mix it up and back Enzo Le Fee to be the man who contributes the most goals and assists in our campaign.

Enzo is an absolute machine and bar that penalty at Brentford, is a dab hand with a dead ball. Being the main man on corners and having the occasional free kick in the locker will help as well as the fact he is absolutely dripping with natural ability.

He’s already spoken about his desire to add more goals to his game and with extra games aplenty, I back our midfield magician to be helping himself as much as he can whilst laying them on the proverbial plate for our mates Brian and Wilson.

Will Patterson says…

I’ve got a weird feeling it’s going to be Enzo Le Fée. Brian Brobbey is a known quantity and I reckon he’s going to create so much space for the players behind him.

Provided we bring in a right winger, we’d have tons of pace on the left with Chemsdine Talbi and threat on the right too. For me that means there could be a lot of space centrally for Le Fée, who’s already shown his quality finishing in pre season.

That said, we saw what a great instinctual finisher Brobbey can be in the World Cup. If we can improve our service to him next season and if Premier League defences don’t wise up to the big fella, he’s in for a big season.
