Chicago Bears training camp is in full swing ahead of the 2026 regular season. Under second-year head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears are looking to build on their success from last year and keep pace in a crowded NFC with important meetings and practices at Halas Hall.

Following an off day, the Bears returned to work on Tuesday in front of a full crowd at Halas Hall for their penultimate open practice of training camp. Those in attendance described the practice as being physical with some unique drills taking place.

Following every Bears training camp practice, we at Bears Wire will highlight the top players who stood out on the field. Here are the players who stood out on Day 14 of practice:

1. OT Theo Benedet

The seemingly neverending competition at left tackle took a serious turn on Tuesday when Johnson announced Braxton Jones and Theo Benedet would be taking the majority of the snaps as Jedrick Wills and Kiran Amegadje moved to the right side.

We knew Jones would remain at the top of the competition for the time being, but Benedet initially wasn't viewed as a serious candidate. He showed out, though, with CHGO's Mark Carman noting he looked capable when working with the first-team offense. CHSN's Clay Harbor observed some great individual reps against the defensive line as well and said he had a good day overall. It still seems like a long shot for Benedet but he's continuing to prove his value for the offensive line.

2. WR J.P. Richardson

Wide receiver J.P. Richardson, the camp darling from 2025, isn't having the same Cinderella run he did a year ago. But that doesn't mean he still isn't showing up with big plays from time to time and on Tuesday, he got some help from this year's camp darling. Richardson caught the final touchdown pass of the day on a strike from Case Keenum. CHGO's Greg Braggs described Richardson coming free in the middle and was able to jet into the end zone thanks to a block from wide receiver Kaden Davis. Richardson had a solid outing in Saturday's preseason win over the Browns and is keeping up the momentum heading into Week 2.

3. WR Jahdae Walker

On Tuesday, Jahdae Walker was doing it all. The second-year wide receiver showed up in multiple ways, the first of which was on special teams. CHGO's Mark Carman saw Walker bury rookie cornerback Malik Muhammad during special teams one-on-one drills. Later on, CHGO's Greg Braggs witnessed Walker make the catch of the day when he snatched a deep ball from quarterback Caleb Williams out of the sky in the end zone to come down with a score during 11-on-11 team drills. Walker has had an excellent camp so far and has put in the work to build chemistry with Williams, which should translate to success in the regular season.
