A Dutch international may be on his way out of Manchester City quicker than expected

Once Manchester City concluded their preseason tour of Asia, the final weeks of the summer transfer window always looked like they’d be a busy time for Hugo Viana, Ferran Soriano and company. City are eager to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad and at the same time players will be sold by City. One player who could depart is Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. It has now been revealed that Sauid Arabian club Al Qadsiah are in advanced talks over a move for Reijnders. The Dutch international could be on his way out of City a lot quicker than expected.

Al Qadsiah have made their move to sign Tijjani Reijnders.

David Ornstein has reported for The Athletic that Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah are in advanced talks with Manchester City over a deal that would see Tijjani Reijnders move to Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, it is reported that there is hope that a deal to sell Reijnders to Al Qadsiah could be reached within days.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City are close to agreeing on a transfer fee of €60 million (£51.3 million) with Al Qadsiah. However, Romano reports that as of yet, Reijnders has not made a decision on whether or not he would like to move to Saudi Arabia. Lastly, it is reported that Nottingham Forest are also eager to sign Reijnders. However, the final decision on where the Dutch midfielder will play next season rests with him.

If Manchester City could make a profit on Tijjani Reijnders that woud be excellent business.

As David Ornstein also reports, Manchester City signed Tijjani Reijnders for £46.5 million from AC Milan during the 2025 summer transfer window. If they can make a profit on Reijnders, that would be excellent business for them.

Tijjani Reijnders had his moments last season, but he couldn’t establish himself as an important member of Pep Guardiola’s side last season. Reijnders had the eye for goal and a pass that City hoped for. However, he struggled to adapt to the physicality of the Premier League. With how the Premier League has continued to evolve with winning duels and the physical side of the game being so important, it is hard to see Reijnders being a first-team regular for Enzo Maresca this season.

A summer transfer is perhaps the best option for Tijjani Reijnders. Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah looks to have put themselves at the front of the queue to sign him. Whether or not Reijnders wants a move to Saudi Arabia isn’t definitively known as of yet. However, it does seem like Manchester City will make a profit on Reijnders, which would be excellent business.
