Alessandro Del Piero was surprised that Juventus could sign a highly regarded player like Kerim Alajbegovic this summer, particularly with Chelsea also interested in a move for the attacking midfielder. The Bianconeri won the race for his signature after he attracted attention from several leading clubs.

Last season, Alajbegović was one of the best teenagers in European football, making his arrival at Juventus a significant coup for the club. The Bianconeri hope Luciano Spalletti can bring out the best in him during the coming campaign, while the midfielder is also eager to test himself in the demanding Italian league.

Alajbegović Responds to Del Piero

Del Piero knows a great deal about Alajbegović and praised the youngster when Juventus completed the move for him. Those comments clearly meant a great deal to the midfielder, who has now responded as he prepares for his first season with the Bianconeri.

As quoted by Tuttomercatoweb, Alajbegović said: “Alessandro Del Piero needs no introduction, everyone knows him: he was a truly, truly great player, a true legend. I can only take a leaf out of his book. It’s an honour for me that he said something like that about me, because when a legend like him says something about you, it’s really special. But it doesn’t end there, of course: we have to keep working hard. I just arrived and I want to do my best, show everyone what I can do: I have a long journey ahead.”

Juventus Hope for Immediate Impact

Alajbegović’s response shows how highly he regards Del Piero and the importance he places on the praise of a Juventus legend. However, he also recognises that his arrival is only the beginning of his journey and that he must continue working hard to fulfil his potential.

The midfielder now faces the challenge of adapting to his new surroundings and proving himself in Italian football. Juventus will hope that his talent translates quickly into consistent performances and that he can make a meaningful contribution during his first season.

Alajbegović is clearly one of the most exciting signings Juventus have made in recent times. The Bianconeri will be hoping he can settle quickly and return to his best form for the team as they look to benefit from the qualities that attracted so much interest in him.
