Aaron Glenn won't like the Jets' latest projection, and it's personal originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. Aaron Glenn is heading into his second year with the New York Jets. Last season didn't go so well. The team was 3-14. No first-year head coach thinks to themselves, "I really hope to start my first season 3-14." But, in Glenn's defense, he wasn't exactly handed the best situation. Regardless, the NFL is merciless, and Glenn has to turn this around, or else he's going to start to be put in the hot seat. That's just how this league works. Now, ESPN has released a list of projections for each NFL team going into the future. We're talking about the future of these teams for years to come. New York Jets Could Improve, But Not Under Aaron Glenn, NFL Analyst Says In the piece, they project the Jets will make the playoffs in 2027. That's good news. But, they also think it will be without Glenn and with a new quarterback, so without Geno Smith. Seth Walder's bold prediction for 2027-29 is that "the Jets will make the playoffs in 2027," but "with a new coach and new quarterback." "After another depressing season in 2026, the Jets will be rewarded with a high pick in this loaded quarterback class," Walder notes. "The result of that QB alongside a strong offensive line and bevy of intriguing pass catchers will be immediate success." One bright spot in this report is that New York's offense, outside of Smith, is very young. That could bode well for their future. The team's offensive starters, minus Smith, average 24.2 years of age, according to the report. That's a positive thing for years to come. More NFL news:
