Aaron Rodgers takes his privacy very seriously.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, 42 — who has previously opened up about his boundaries — allegedly funded the Cedar Grove, New Jersey, police department’s purchase of Flock-style license plate cameras, FOIAball reported on Wednesday, August 12.
The subscription-based outlet (via Us Weekly) claimed the football pro donated $37,000 to the township for the automatic license plate reader (ALPR) cameras.
“We’ve received a generous donation of new ALPR cameras … a very generous donation that the police department is receiving,” the town’s manager reportedly said during a city council meeting at the time. “These are very heavily used tools in the law enforcement toolkit, so it’s good to add more to our belt.”
According to FOIAball, Rodgers used an LLC to keep his identity a secret after moving to the neighborhood.
The former New York Jets player purchased property in the area in June 2023 for $9.5 million, since the Jets play their home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

In Touch recently reported that Rodgers listed that eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom New Jersey mansion for $15 million.
Per Us Weekly, FOIAball estimated that Rodgers’ donation covered approximately 17 new cameras, which have a controversial reputation. According to the American Civil Liberties Union, these types of cameras “are tracking, logging, and sharing your movements without a warrant.”
Cedar Grove’s city council reportedly said there are “cameras situated in various areas throughout the township.”
Last season was Rodgers’ first as quarterback for the Steelers. He was previously with the Jets and spent the majority of his time in the NFL playing for the Green Bay Packers.
The Super Bowl champ previously spoke about his desire for privacy during the March 4 episode of The Pat McAfee Show.
Rodgers told host Pat McAfee that the “obsession” with his personal life and relationship is “bizarre,” adding that he’s allegedly been stalked on numerous occasions.
“I don’t say that lightly or flippantly,” Rodgers said. “I’ve been getting stalked at my house for about a year-and-a-half when I was living there. Not just that, but stalked at the coffee shop I would frequent, the gym at Proactive that I would go to, which was really bizarre and still is. Then the paparazzi was stalking me for a long time, flying drones over my house.”
