The WWE title and the WWE Heavyweight championship are the two top prizes in the game.
Current holders CM Punk and Roman Reigns are well versed in what it means to be the top dog as well.
It’s not just turning up and producing on Raw and Smackdown, it’s everything that comes with such as outside interviews and media duties, towing the company line and representing WWE and TKO in general to a high standard.
To their credit, Reigns and Punk do this perfectly.
However, those two cannot fly the flag forever and according to AJ Styles, it’s time for a new title holder to step in.
AJ Styles backs L.A. Knight to become WWE champion
Fan favourite L.A. Knight is firmly back in the title picture and he is expected to face off with Reigns at some point very soon for the belt.
Knight has been here before but wasn’t handed the gold but this time, there is a feeling that it might be different.

Indeed, according to Styles, Knight is more than ready.
“I’ve never seen anybody more ready to be a champion right now than LA Knight,” Styles said on his recent podcast.
“I know I keep harping on this, but I can’t be the only one that thinks this way. He’s got all the tools. Give him the opportunity. He knows what comes with being a champion. He’s got it. I’m not just talking about holding the Heavyweight Championship around your waist. Nope.
“When it comes to interviews and what you got to do to represent the WWE, he has those tools to be able to get it done and I think he’d do it flawlessly.”
There have been suggestions that Triple H and some backstage are not that high on Knight and we all saw on the Unreal series on Netflix how Knight botched a big moment in the Money in the Bank ladder match that caused disdain backstage.
Nevertheless, Knight is right back in there and it feels like if there was ever a time to pull the trigger, that time might be now.
