Liverpool officials have allegedly checked into a hotel in Paris to further negotiations for Bradley Barcola.

A reputable source on X claimed that “the end is near”, as the Reds hope to further bolster their forward line ahead of the deadline.

The Merseysiders are understood to also hold some interest in Ibrahim Mbaye, however, the Senegal international’s price tag is proving problematic.

Liverpool could finalise Bradley Barcola deal shortly

With the Champions League holders having completed deals for both Mika Godts and Ferran Torres, PSG are officially in a position to begin offloading spare parts.

Which ultimately brings both Barcola and Mbaye front and centre when it comes to summer exits.

However, all will of course depend on PSG relaxing their rather rigid stance on the former’s price tag, with the French outfit reportedly valuing the left-sided winger at the £145m mark.

Liverpool will not pay £145m for the PSG star

It should come as absolutely no surprise that Liverpool’s decision-makers have no interest in ceding to PSG’s demands.

To give Richard Hughes and Co. some credit, we don’t believe they should either – even in such an inflated market.

More to the point, with Bradley Barcola set to become an asset that’s actively depreciating in value (after the summer transfer window closes), owing to a contract expiring in 2028, the pressure is on for PSG to secure value in the current window.

Don’t get us wrong, we really can’t afford to go into the 2026/27 season proper without forward reinforcements either. But it would be unrealistic to suggest that there’s no wiggle room for the asking price to come down to an acceptable level – especially given that head coach Luis Enrique has already hinted he’d prefer the wide man seek pastures new.

With that in mind, we’re pretty confident, at the time of writing, that this is a deal both sides can shake hands on.
