The Army football program has signed head coach Jeff Monken to a new extension.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Army has given Monken a five-year extension that goes through the 2030 season. He helped Army go 7-6 last season and win the Fenway Bowl.
Monken has been the head coach for 12 full seasons, compiling an 89-63 record. His best individual season came in 2024 when he led the program to a 1-2 record and a win in the Independence Bowl. He has three seasons with 10+ wins and five with 9+ wins.

Before Monken took over the program before the 2014 season, Army had won only eight combined games during the 2011-13 seasons. He’s done one heck of a job and is looking to continue his stellar work in 2026.
Army will open its 2026 season against Bryant on Sept. 5 at noon ET before playing teams like Tulane, Memphis, Air Force, and Rice before playing the annual Army-Navy game on Dec. 12.
