Arsenal have refused to give up on signing Ezri Konsa despite Aston Villa rejecting their first bid for his signature.
Villa do not want to lose the defender this summer, as they consider him one of their most important players. However, Arsenal remain determined to bring him to the Emirates.
Arsenal Continue Pursuit of Konsa
The Gunners continue to strengthen their squad, and it can be difficult for them to find players who can make the team better. When they identify a player who can improve the group, they are prepared to do everything possible to secure his signature.
Konsa is one of the players Arsenal have been looking to sign, and the defender would reportedly be open to the move because it would give him the chance to play for a bigger club alongside better players.
However, Villa do not want that to happen and have insisted that the defender is not for sale unless Arsenal are prepared to pay a very high fee.
The defender remains a subject of interest for the Gunners as they enter the final weeks of the transfer window, and Football Insider claims Arsenal are now preparing a new bid to submit for his signature.
Konsa Seen as Saliba Replacement
With William Saliba expected to miss several weeks, Arsenal believe Konsa would be an ideal replacement and could raise the overall level of the team.
The defender’s potential arrival would give Arsenal another quality option in their back line, while also providing greater depth during Saliba’s absence. The Gunners therefore appear unwilling to abandon their pursuit despite Villa’s firm stance.
Villa’s position could make negotiations difficult, particularly if the club continues to demand a significantly higher fee for a player they consider important. Arsenal will now have to decide how far they are willing to go to convince Villa to sell.
Konsa’s reported willingness to join Arsenal could also encourage the Gunners to continue their efforts. If a new bid is submitted, it could test Villa’s resolve and determine whether their stance that the defender is not for sale can be maintained.
For now, Arsenal remain focused on securing his signature, with the club viewing Konsa as a player capable of strengthening their squad and helping them cope with Saliba’s absence.
