The board at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid are mulling over a potential late-window move for a member of the attacking ranks at Premier League outfit Chelsea.
The Blues star in the sights of Diego Simeone and co? Nicolas Jackson.
Frontman Jackson is for his part widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out. Fresh off a loan stint in Germany with Bayern Munich, the 25-year-old has not managed to work his way back into a prominent place in the plans of new Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso.
Still held in high regard across the continent, Jackson, as a result, is understood to be drawing widespread interest ahead of the transfer deadline.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, one of Spanish football’s leading clubs have been named as the Senegalese international’s latest high-profile suitor.
As per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements up top:
‘According to reports from England, Atlético Madrid are monitoring the situation of the 25-year-old Senegalese player.’
Jackson, who boasts previous experience of La Liga football with Villarreal, is valued at a considerable €70 million. Any Atléti swoop would therefore be expected to come in the form of a loan.
