With FC Barcelona deciding to bring in World Cup winner Rodri from Manchester City, it has had an impact on the club’s plans for the midfield department for the upcoming campaign.
And one of the youngsters affected most by the imminent arrival of the 30-year-old superstar happens to be Tommy Marques.
The 19-year-old La Masia gem seemed primed for a first-team breakthrough this season, but is now on his way out.

Now, according to Jijantes FC, Tommy already has a proposal from SC Braga to continue his senior career in Portugal.
The report further states that both Barcelona and the teenage midfielder’s camp are working hard to secure an agreement and push through his move to the Portuguese club.

If the transfer goes through, Tommy would be united with former Barcelona forward Pau Victor, who joined Braga last summer and has enjoyed an impressive start at the club.
While the financial terms of the deal are not mentioned, it is expected that the Catalans will push for a future sell-on clause as well as a buyback clause for the future should the youngster explode at his new club.
A swift turnaround
Coming into the summer, Tommy looked set to become a part of Hansi Flick’s plans in the first-team dynamics at Barcelona.
Having been training with the senior squad for most of last season, he made his senior debut for the Blaugrana in a La Liga game against Osasuna in February.

The 19-year-old starlet was tipped as the readymade replacement for Marc Casado, who is expected to be sold imminently.
However, with Rodri set to arrive from Manchester City, Tommy was no longer guaranteed a place in the senior setup.
Moreover, the impressive performances of Brian Farinas during pre-season also played a part, with the manager now seeing him ahead of Tommy in the pecking order.
As such, the teenage midfielder is now on his way out of Barcelona, with SC Braga emerging as the likeliest destination for him to continue his senior career.
