It appears to be only a matter of time before Barcelona complete the sale of Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has already given his customary ‘here we go’ for the transfer, with Torres ready to fly into the French capital.

The scorer of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final winner has missed training at Barcelona for the past few days and it looks like he won’t be joining Hansi Flick’s men in training anytime soon either.

Ferran Torres awaiting the final moves

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Ferran is now simply waiting for the green light to travel to Paris and undergo his medical, following the agreement in principle reached between the two clubs.

The deal is worth around €50 million, and with PSG having long since agreed personal terms with the forward, the operation is effectively complete barring any last-minute issues.

Ferran is expected to fly out to complete the formalities imminently, with an official announcement likely to follow this weekend.

As mentioned earlier, the Spaniard has already been excused from Barcelona training in recent days as he waits to finalise what has been a whirlwind summer, capped by his World Cup final heroics.

A shrewd piece of business

For Barcelona, the sale represents excellent value, particularly given the way the club have structured it.

The Catalans have structured the deal in a way that avoids triggering a €10 million payment owed to Manchester City, maximising the financial benefit of the transfer.

Recouping such a sum for a player with just one year left on his contract is a strong outcome in itself.

Crucially, the funds and wage savings generated could prove significant elsewhere. Ferran’s exit is expected to unlock Barcelona’s pursuit of Rodri, the World Cup-winning midfielder the club are desperate to sign from Manchester City.

While losing a player of Ferran’s quality and big-game pedigree is far from ideal, the move suits all parties.

Ferran gets his desired switch to work under Luis Enrique, PSG land a versatile attacker, and Barcelona bank a healthy fee to reinvest in their squad.
