After Ronald Araujo, Ferran Torres is set to become the next Barcelona player to leave the club.

The Spanish international is widely expected to join Paris Saint-Germain after a brilliant 2025/26 and World Cup campaign.

Ferran’s move is currently of when and not if; with the player soon expected to travel to the French capital.

Ferran deal to be completed today or tomorrow

According to Cadena SER, the agreement between Barcelona and PSG for Ferran’s transfer could be finalised between today and tomorrow.

The forward already has an agreement in place with the French club and is ready to travel to Paris in the coming hours to undergo his medical.

Ferran did not train with Barcelona on Thursday, having also been excused the previous day.

Negotiations between the two clubs have entered their final phase, with PSG having long since agreed personal terms with the player.

All that remains is for the definitive transfer terms to be settled, with the operation set to be closed for a figure of around €55 million.

For Barcelona, recouping such a sum for a player with just one year left on his contract represents excellent business, even if losing a World Cup final hero is far from ideal.

A key piece in the Rodri puzzle

Ferran’s exit is closely tied to Barcelona’s other major ongoing operation, the pursuit of Rodri.

The Catalans have already sent Manchester City a second proposal worth €60 million, made up of a fixed fee and variables, having seen an initial €50 million bid rejected.

However, reports suggest City have also turned down this latest offer.

Barcelona remain confident the deal will ultimately happen, with the club planning to make a third and definitive offer in the region of €70 million, comprising €60 million fixed plus €10 million in add-ons.

The funds generated by Ferran’s departure will naturally aid Barcelona’s efforts to get the Rodri deal over the line, both financially and in terms of squad registration.

With one exit nearing completion, the Catalans will hope it paves the way for a marquee arrival, as they look to reshape their squad before the window closes.
