La Liga champions Barcelona have moved to categorically deny any and all interest in the signature of Sporting CP star Luis Suárez. This of course comes on a day in which the Colombian has dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital.
Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements at centre-forward, Barcelona have over the last couple of weeks been linked with a whole host of attackers from across the European landscape.
As of yet unable to convince La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid to part with star frontman Julián Alvarez, Deco and co. have been left with little choice but to broaden their search.
The name of the aforementioned Suárez – fresh off a 38-goal season in Portugal – has in turn emerged as the latest tipped to fill the gaping hole in Hansi Flick’s frontline.
As alluded to above, however, mere hours on from reports linking the parties with one another, Barca have moved to shut down the speculation.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Sources within the Catalan club categorically deny (any interest in Suárez), stating that their primary and total commitment remains with the Argentine striker from Atlético Madrid (Julián Alvarez).’
