Real’s Diomandé move relieves pressure on Bayern (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

Real Madrid’s transfer move for former RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé seems to have put Bayern Munich at ease.

Real Madrid could be satisfied with its new star and might ease off its pursuit of Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise. That development could eventually make it easier for the Bavarians to convince Olise to sign a contract extension. Below, is Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk’s take on the situation:

For Bayern Munich, Real Madrid’s successful pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande is really good news. I think Madrid’s first idea was to sign Michael Olise; they tried it, they tested it, with rumours. They didn’t ask Bayern Munich for the player directly because they already knew the answer would be a firm “no”. The presidents of both clubs, Herbert Hainer and Florentino Pérez, of course, had already discussed this topic to put an end to the rumours. FC Bayern have always been clear: Olise is not for sale this summer.

Now, you see Real Madrid have potentially committed as much as €140m [£119.5m] to Diomande – a player who favours the same position Michael Olise is playing. Additionally, Los Blancos have agreed a new contract with Vinicius Jr until 2032. So, both sides are full! And it’s not like the middle is looking particularly weak either. I certainly think Kylian Mbappe would have something to say if they bring another attacker in! Plus, you have Jude Bellingham and free transfer Bernardo Silva available in the centre. So, at the minute, it looks pretty full up top for Real Madrid, and that’s why it’s such a good sign for Bayern Munich.

Now, FC Bayern can negotiate with Michael Olise and quite rightly point out that his “dream club” has spent the money on another player and has enough players in his position. Perhaps it’s better to stay put at Bayern Munich and sign a new contract. The idea is that he would get more money than what he’s currently earning (€13m-15m [£11.1m-12.8m] gross). Bayern Munich would like the France international to be earning more in the region of over €20m [£17m]. Harry Kane, for reference, is earning €25m [£21.3m] a year, so this could be the rough range for Michael Olise. But for this, he has to sign a long-term contract.

Bayern Munich will go extremely hard to keep Olise, but — in the end — it will all depend on what the Frenchman thinks and wants. At this stage, sticking with Bayern Munich might be the best option for Olise. However, the heart wants what it wants. When the time comes to make a decision on a contract extension, fans will find out if Olise has come around on having a future in Bavaria.

Let’s hope so!

Osimhen to Arsenal? (ESPN)

In a surprising move, Arsenal has reportedly talked to Galatasaray about striker Victor Osimhen:

Arsenal have held talks with Galatasaray about the availability of striker Victor Osimhen, according to the Daily Telegraph. The discussions surrounding the Nigeria international came during talks over separate deals for Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri to join the Turkish Super Lig club. It’s unclear which side raised the possibility of a move and whether one will be pursued, though Arsenal do have a longstanding interest in Osimhen. Amid those links, Florian Plettenberg reports that Galatasaray have turned down a €130 million offer from Al Hilal for the striker. Meanwhile, Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Nwaneri is also a target for AC Milan.

It feels like Osimhen is involved in rumors every summer. That has to be exhausting.

Leverkusen rejects offer on Palacios (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)

Bayer Leverkusen received an offer from Ipswich Town for Exequiel Palacios, but soundly rejected it:

🚨❌ Understand Bayer 04 Leverkusen have rejected an offer of around €20m from Ipswich Town for Exequiel Palacios.

Internal stance: “Far too low.”

Negotiations are currently on hold. Palacios would like to move to the Premier League and has informed Leverkusen of his desire. He remains under contract until 2030.

Surely, Bayer Leverkusen is going to want to maximize what it can get for the midfielder. It seems hard to believe that it would be much more than what Ipswich Town offered, but who knows? Maybe someone will get desperate for the midfielder.

Milan looking to unloan Nkunku (Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano)

AC Milan wants to get rid of former Bayern Munich transfer target Christopher Nkunku:

🚨❌ AC Milan informed Christopher Nkunku about decision to keep him out of team training.

Nkunku can be available even on loan or permanent transfer, out of Amorim project at Milan.

Clubs in Italy and abroad, in talks with his agents.

Market dry for Zaragoza, Boey? (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

Things are not exactly going to be easy with selling Bryan Zaragoza and Sacha Boey:

It’s getting hard for Bayern Munich in their efforts to sell Bryan Zaragoza and Sacha Boey. Zaragoza has been injured in recent weeks, but FC Bayern are clear that they want to part ways. I heard that the Bavarians are looking for €8.5m [£7.2m]. I think this is a fair asking price for a player who had been knocking on the door of the Spanish international team. So, he needs playing time; I think that’s the key point, and he’s not physically strong enough for Bayern Munich. But for other clubs, he’d make a fine addition.

I see a bigger problem with Sacha Boey. Bayern still want €15m [£12.8m] for the player. He has shown that he’s a talented player in Bayern’s recent friendlies, but everyone knows that the club is keen to get rid of the footballer. This is why it’s always hard to find a market for the fullback.

As far as Palhinha is concerned, a big problem with getting the Portugal international off the books has been his keenness to keep the money he’s earning at Bayern Munich at another club. Other clubs have expressed concern that his salary demands are a little too high. So, the former Fulham man has to make some compromises if he wants a move to another club. Perhaps he’ll lower his salary demands a little!

Interest in Zaragoza and Boey might be tough to drum up and it is possible that both stay with the team for — at least — the first half of the season.

Elvedi to Leeds? (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)

Borussia Mönchengladbach center-back Nico Elvedi could be headed to Leeds United:

🚨⏳ EXCL | Nico Elvedi and Leeds United have reached a full agreement over a contract until 2029.

Elvedi very open to move to the Premier League before Deadline Day. Leeds are preparing an offer and are expected to submit it soon. #LUFC

Dortmund moving on from El Mala (Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger)

Per this report, Borussia Dortmund could really be exiting the race for Said El Mala — and not just doing some late posturing:

BVB has set its sights on Giannis Konstantelias (23/🇬🇷) after the El-Mala transfer fell through.

David Blacha was on site in Anderlecht yesterday according to Sky reports, to watch the PAOK Saloniki attacking player in the Europa League qualifier.

But there’s still another option besides Konstantelias … @SkySportDE
