Chicago Bears president and CEO Kevin Warren met with the media on Thursday to share an update on the team's ongoing stadium saga and said quite a bit without saying much at all. Following rampant and irresponsible speculation across social media that the Bears would finalize a move to Hammond, Indiana on Wednesday, Warren instead shared that the Bears have simply completed their due diligence for one possible stadium site at the Lost Marsh location and are looking into a second site at Wolf Lake in Hammond while stating that continues to be their sole focus for a move. Warren also believes they could merge the two sites.

That came just days after the Illinois legislative session ended without a resolution to a bill that was proposed to secure property tax certainty for the Arlington Park property they purchased back in 2023. Warren also noted they do not have an offer from the state of Illinois at this time either. As this stadium saga drags on, Warren is not putting a timetable on when the team might break ground. "We will take our time to make sure we get it right," he said via the 79th & Halas Podcast. The Bears are inching closer to building their next home across state lines, but it seems there is still plenty of work to do before anything gets finalized.
