Jude Bellingham is back with Real Madrid.

The English midfielder completed his first training session with the team following his return from the World Cup and spoke to Real Madrid TV afterward about his return, the upcoming season, and his excitement about working with José Mourinho.

Bellingham arrives back in Madrid following his international commitments with England and made it clear that his attention has already shifted toward competing for trophies with his club.

“The World Cup was a very good experience for me and my England teammates, but I’m ready to return and compete with my Real Madrid teammates. Hopefully, we can win.”

One of the biggest changes awaiting Bellingham this season is the opportunity to work under Mourinho. Despite having spent limited time together so far, Bellingham suggested that a connection between the two has already started to form.

“I feel like I already have a relationship with him, and it’s a dream for me to work with a coach like Mourinho. I’ve only had one chance to see him, but I’m very excited to see what he’s like.”

Bellingham’s return also means getting reacquainted with the physical demands of training in Madrid. His first session back included plenty of running and work with the ball, with the summer heat adding another layer of difficulty.

The 23-year-old, though, seems happy to embrace it.

“I’m running a lot in the heat, and I’m playing a lot of football with my teammates. It’s difficult, but it’s good to enjoy it. I really like this suffering.”

Bellingham is entering another season at Real Madrid with considerably more experience than when he first arrived from Borussia Dortmund. He reflected on his own development while also pointing to the changes around him as reasons for optimism.

“Now I’m a bit more of a man and I have more experience. I have a good feeling about this season with the new signings and the coach.”

Since joining Madrid, Bellingham has quickly become one of the club’s most important players. His comments after returning to training also made clear that his enthusiasm for representing Real Madrid has not diminished.

“It’s an honor and a privilege for me to play for this club. I hope it will be for many more years.”

Bellingham concluded his interview with a short message directly to the supporters as he begins preparations for another campaign in white.

“Hello Madridistas. I’m back to work and compete again. Hala Madrid!”
