Restricted free agency has been tough for young players hitting the open market in recent years, and Mathurin is another player who remains unsigned heading into August.
The Clippers acquired Mathurin in the Zubac trade this past season, but now have an important decision to make with him, as a few teams are in talks about what a contract would look like for the 24-year-old.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Mathurin is talking with the Pelicans, Bulls and Bucks on potential extensions.
Since Mathurin is a restricted free agent, the Clippers have the power to match any offer Mathurin gets from another team, but they won't definitely do it if the number is higher than what they'd want to pay him.

There's also a possibility that he could be brought back to the Clippers on a short-term deal if the market isn't as exciting as Mathurin was hoping for.
Jalen Duren and Peyton Watson are among the other notable players who remain unsigned as unrestricted free agents this offseason.
Mathurin has had some bumps due to injuries in the past few seasons, but has been very productive when he is active.
In 54 games last season with the Pacers and Clippers, he averaged 17.6 points and 5.4 rebounds.
