Best budget picks for your 2026/27 Fantasy Bundesliga squad

With the start of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season less than two weeks away, this article takes an early look at (some of) the best budget picks in the Bundesliga Fantasy game.

Below are 10 players you could consider as enablers to help free up funds for big-money options such as Michael Olise and Harry Kane.

Fabian Bredlow, VfB Stuttgart (Goalkeeper, 4.81M)

With Alexander Nübel’s three-year loan spell at VfB Stuttgart now over, Dennis Seimen has been announced as the club’s new No. 1. However, since Seimen has suffered an injury that is expected to keep him out until at least the first international break in September, Bredlow should start the opening games of the new season.

Jan Gyamerah, Elversberg (Defender, 1.99M)

Gyamerah is unlikely to be a major points scorer, but at around 2 million, he could be a useful enabler at the start of the game. The 31-year-old was a regular at right-back for Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga last season, scoring once and providing three assists, and it currently looks like he will retain his place.

Keita Kosugi, Eintracht Frankfurt (Defender, 3.2M, 2%)

With Nathaniel Brown having completed a big-money move to Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt need someone to step in at left-back. Kosugi has yet to make his debut for the club since his €6 million move from Djurgården in January, but unless Eintracht bring in another player for the position, the 20-year-old looks to have a good chance of starting at left-back after impressing during pre-season under new head coach Adi Hütter.

Elias Baum, Eintracht Frankfurt (Defender, 5M)

If you’re willing to spend a little more, Baum looks like an even more attractive option from the Eintracht backline. After a hugely impressive loan spell at Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga in 2024/25, expectations were high following his return, but he ultimately made just five appearances as a substitute last season. However, with Rasmus Kristensen having returned to Denmark, the path now appears clear for the 20-year-old to establish himself as a regular starter under Hütter.

Luka Duric, SC Paderborn (Midfielder, 1.62M)

Much like Gyamerah, Duric is priced below 2 million and has a realistic chance of starting for a newly-promoted side. Having joined Paderborn from Hoffenheim’s reserves, the 23-year-old could step into a creative role in midfield. If he looks set to start and you're looking for a cheap midfield option, he could be worth considering.

Adil Aouchiche, Schalke 04 (Midfielder, 6.48M)

Aouchiche played a key role in Schalke’s promotion to the Bundesliga following his January move from Sunderland, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 14 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga for the Royal Blues. He and Schalke will now hope that his good form continues in the top flight. Schalke open the season against Augsburg, but it’s worth noting that they have a tough second-round fixture against Bayern Munich.

Yuito Suzuki, Freiburg (Midfielder, 7.73M)

Suzuki showcased his potential in his first season at Freiburg, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, and could take another step forward in his second season. The Japan international should be a nailed-on starter in central attacking midfield for a Freiburg side with a favourable opening schedule, and he appears to be priced too low compared to other players with similar potential.

Niklas Beste, Freiburg (Midfielder, 7.8M)

Available at nearly the same price as Suzuki, Beste is another player who looks attractively priced given his potential. The 27-year-old has yet to reproduce the level he showed at Heidenheim, but he had a decent 2025/26 campaign and was a regular starter on the right wing for much of the season.

Younes Ebnoutalib, Eintracht Frankfurt (Striker, 3.37M)

Ebnoutalib made a decent start at Eintracht Frankfurt following his move from Elversberg in January, but an injury significantly limited his playing time for the remainder of the season. He now appears to have a good chance of starting up front alongside Jonathan Burkardt under Hütter. If that remains the case, he could be one of the biggest bargains available.

Livan Burcu, 1. FC Union Berlin (Striker, 4.94M)

After receiving considerable praise towards the end of last season, expectations are high for the 21-year-old attacker heading into the 2026/27 campaign. A skilful attacker with an eye for goal, Burcu could really establish himself at Union this season, with the youngster currently expected to start on the left wing.
