A pair of the Buffalo Bills' starting receivers did not practice on Aug. 18. One may be more injured than the other. Days after Keon Coleman caught the first touchdown pass at the Bills' new stadium, he arrived to practice at Highmark Stadium on Tuesday, Aug. 18 wearing a walking boot on his right foot. Fellow starting wideout Khalil Shakir also did not participate in Tuesday's practice, though there was no initial indication of whether he was injured or just taking a rest day. Coleman was reportedly "banged up" during the Bills' first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. According to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe, the third-year receiver "favored (his) lower body" after his third and final catch of the day in the second quarter. Coleman's last catch came on the last offensive play of Buffalo's third drive, so it was unclear if he departed with injury or as part of a planned substitution in the preseason. Newcomer wide receiver DJ Moore did manage to participate in practice on Aug. 18 after appearing to injure his ankle in the Bills' preseason opener. Moore was fully dressed in his pads and jogged onto the field for the start of practice, though he did not participate in team drills, according to WKBW's Matthew Bové. Buffalo will play its next preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, Aug. 22. After both teams played their starters in Week 1 of the preseason, the first-teamers may not play as much in Week 2. Browns head coach Todd Monken said on Aug. 17 that he and Bills head coach Joe Brady agreed to have their starters face off in the teams' joint practice on Thursday, Aug. 20. If both Monken and Brady "see ... what [they] want to see" from the starters on Thursday, they agreed to sit those players for Saturday's game. If Coleman, Shakir and Moore remain on the bench on Aug. 22, it does not necessarily mean they're (still) injured and will miss more time. Keon Coleman injury update Coleman sported a walking boot on his right foot at the Bills' practice session on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The nature of his injury is not known at the time of writing. Keon Coleman stats Coleman finished last season as the Bills second-most-productive wide receiver and second-most-targeted pass-catcher. Here is how his 2025 season looked, by the numbers:
