Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray says he wants to make further additions to his squad before the transfer window closes.
Mowbray believes his side need reinforcements ahead of the new season but acknowledged that adding players could create difficult decisions when it comes to naming his 25-man squad.
“We’d like some more additions. We’d like to give the team some help,” Mowbray said ahead of the game against Wolves.
“It’s not me necessarily sitting here saying I want loads of really good top players. The team just needs help. Any football team needs help.”
Blackburn have already been active in the transfer window, with experienced midfielder Sam Morsy becoming the club’s latest signing.
But Mowbray believes further business will be a big boost to ensure his squad is equipped for the challenges ahead.
“Any football coach will sit there and tell you that we could do with a few more signings,” he added.
“Yet, you look at the numbers; if we don’t lose anybody, there are some people who are not even going to get a squad number.
“That’s almost sad for those players, really. If they’re professional footballers and they don’t get a squad number in the 25, it’s really tough.
“So, I’m hoping that there’s some movement both ways over the next couple of weeks,.
“Then when the window shuts closed, we get on with it and look forward to the challenge ahead.
“I’m going to try and get the right balance for the teams, for the opposition that we’re playing.”
