Ricky Tiedemann and Daz Cameron had lockers in the Toronto Blue Jays’ clubhouse Saturday, Aug. 15, suggesting Vladimir Guerrero Jr. might be getting some time off after a concussion scare the night before.
Guerrero Jr. was evaluated for a possible concussion after leaving in the sixth inning of the Blue Jays’ win over the Yankees in Toronto. His head collided with the knee of Yankees shortstop George Lombard Jr. at third base in a case of poor timing.

Tiedemann, a left-handed pitcher, was the Blue Jays’ No. 1 prospect — and a consensus top-100 prospect in all of baseball — as recently as 2023. He has been set back by injuries since then, missing time in 2024 due to bone chips in his elbow and all of 2025 following Tommy John surgery.
Nonetheless, Tiedemann was added to the Blue Jays’ 40-man roster to protect him from being selected in the 2025 Rule 5 draft, paving the way to his first big league promotion.
In three Triple-A games this season, Tiedemann allowed four runs across three innings.

Cameron, an outfielder, was signed by the Blue Jays in July after he was designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers. The son of former major league outfielder Mike Cameron has a .200 batting average, 11 home runs, and 42 RBIs in 160 MLB games with the Detroit Tigers, Oakland A’s, and Milwaukee.
The Blue Jays have not officially announced any transactions today. If Guerrero is concussed, the Blue Jays can place him on the 7-day injured list.
