Bo Nix has that dawg in him. The Denver Broncos had a fight during Tuesday's training camp practice that started a few plays after Nix was taken to the ground. Reporters at practice tweeted that Nix was "PISSED" and threw a football at defensive lineman Malcolm Roach after the QB went to the ground (Roach is a repeat offender this summer). A few plays later, a fight broke out after Nix threw an interception. Nix pulled outside linebacker Nik Bonitto off a pile, and offensive lineman Calvin Trockmorton left practice with a bloodied face after the pile-up. Nix was asked about the incident after practice, and he had a somewhat surprising response. “I love it," Nix said. "It’s football. It’s getting me ready for the games coming up. It’s a physical practice out there, played by physical people. It got intense and we were just really enjoying it. Sometimes in the dog days of summer, practice gets long, and the intensity runs high."
Bo Nix absolutely loving the spiciness and intensity of today’s practice. He doesn’t mind a little melee here or there. “I love it. It’s football” https://t.co/7mKfBFDDXRpic.twitter.com/oEgY5fTRyI — Romi Bean (@Romi_Bean) August 18, 2026 Nix is a highly competitive quarterback, and it's clear that fiery moments can propel him to success. Of course, Nix may have a different take if he hadn't walked away from Tuesday's practice in good health. "Bo's our quarterback, and we don't want anyone near Bo," defensive coordinator Vance Joseph said after practice. Nix might love the spirited practice battles, but the Broncos need to keep him healthy going into the regular season. With one day of training camp remaining, Nix seems to be fully recovered from January's ankle injury, and Denver's staff will want to keep it that way.
