The NFL season is rapidly approaching. After this weekend, there will be one preseason game left for each of the 32 teams to get through before making it to the games that count..

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens (3) and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (88) react during the game against the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium.

The NFL season is rapidly approaching. After this weekend, there will be one preseason game left for each of the 32 teams to get through before making it to the games that count.

What better time to make bold prediction for every team? Some of them will be risky business while others might seem obvious. Either way, there will be plenty of interest in how every team does this year.

Will coaches make it to the end of the season or see their time end? What players will thrive and what players will nosedive.

Some bold predictions for the 2026 NFL season:

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (85) catches a pass as safety Andrew Wingard (27) defends during training camp at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Aug. 3, 2026.

Not exactly going out on a limb here, but the Cardinals will finish last -- again -- in the NFC West. Tight end Trey McBride will have the most receptions, yards and touchdowns for anyone at the position.

Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa (1) and Michael Penix Jr. (9) on the field during minicamp.

Neither Michael Penix Jr. nor Tua Tagovailoa will reach double figures in starts. Penix should be the QB once he is totally recovered from last year's injury. Tagovailoa is simply a player who is always waiting to get hurt. Not so much fragile as just having taken the brunt of too many hits already.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry (22) carries the ball against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the first quarter at Acrisure Stadium.

Derrick Henry will become the seventh running back to rush for 1,000 yards in a season at the age of 32. Six others, including John Riggins twice, has reached four figures at an age older than 32.

Buffalo Bills

Bills James Cook III runs a drill while carrying the ball at Bills Training Camp at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford on Aug. 1, 2026.

James Cook will rush for fewer than the 1,621 yards he has in 2025 and will not lead the NFL in rushing again.

Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers wide receiver John Metchie III (13) catches a pass for a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills during the second half at New Highmark Stadium

The Panthers will finish with a record that is better than .500 for the first time since the 2017 season.

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (1), quarterback Joe Burrow (9) and wide receiver Tee Higgins (5) take the field as captains for the coin toss before a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.

The Bengals will finally put it all together and win the AFC North. Much of that will because the NFL will have no answer for Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, who respectively will have career years.

Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson take part in a drill on the first day of minicamp at CrossCountry Mortgage Campus of the Cleveland Browns in Berea, Ohio on June 9, 2026.

When your choice is Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders that means the Browns will finish last for the third straight season in the AFC North.

Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson and Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken shake hands after a preseason game at Soldier Field.

The Bears will come back to earth in 2026. Consider them this year's version of the Washington Commanders. They are more likely to finish at .500 or below for the seventh time in eight years than to repeat last year's 11-win, NFC North championship.

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb (88) carries the ball wearing a Guardian helmet cap at training camp at River Ridge Playing Fields.

CeeDee Lamb will have his sixth straight 1,000-yard receiving season, and George Pickens will again join him by going over the 1,000-yard mark. They will top last year's combined 168 catches easily.

Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton during training camp at Broncos Park.

The Broncos will not repeat last year's performance and win 14 games. They will be tested by the resurgent Kansas City Chiefs as they try and repeat as AFC West champs.

Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (0) practices a drill during OTAs at Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park on Friday, May 29, 2026.

The Lions will rebound from last year's 9-8 season and win the NFC North. Jahmyr Gibbs will crack the 2,000-yard mark, combining rushing and receiving.

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (8) rides a bicycle to practice on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Packers will finish better than .500 for the eighth time in nine seasons. Josh Jacobs will come up short again as he seeks his fifth 1,000-yard season.

Houston Texans

Houston Texans running back British Brooks (44) and running back David Montgomery (32) during training camp at Houston Methodist Training Center.

For the ninth time in nine seasons, a different running back will lead the Texans in rushing. Woody Marks did it last year with 703 yards as a rookie. This season, it will be David Montgomery, who will have a big year after coming over from the Detroit Lions.

Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones (17) hands the ball off to running back Jonathan Taylor (28) on day one of training camp at Grand Park Sports Campus.

Jonathan Taylor will have his fourth season of more than 1,400 rushing yards. Alex Pierce will struggle and won't reach 1,000 receiving yards and will average less than 20 per catch for the first time since 2023.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (16) and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (3) talk after Day 15 of NFL training camp at the Miller Electric Center on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars will not repeat their 13-4 season from 2025 but they will not revert back to the 4-13 campaign of 2024.

Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III (9) warms up prior to a game against the Los Angeles Rams at Arrowhead Stadium.

Buoyed by the addition of Kenneth Walker III in the backfield and a healthy Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs will return to the playoffs. Travis Kelce, however, will not lead the team in receiving for the eighth time in nine years. Time to share the wealth more often.

Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders quarterbacks Fernando Mendoza (15) and Kirk Cousins (8) sit on the bench while watching the action on the field during the game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Try as the will, the Raiders are not going to dig themselves out of last in the AFC West. The good news is they will be so bad early there will be little risk in going from Kirk Cousins to Fernando Mendoza at QB.

Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (10) warms up before the game against the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium.

Another year, another season of the Justin Herbert hype not delivering a division title.

Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (9) throws a pass against defensive end Braden Fiske (55) during training camp at Loyola Marymount University.

Matthew Stafford will not repeat as NFL MVP. As much of a favorite as LA is in preseason Super Bowl rankings, this will be a much tougher test to win it all than anyone suspects, with or without Aaron Donald.

Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins running back Lamar Smith (R) is brought down by Indianapolis Colts defensive backs Chad Cota (C) and Jason Belser during the first quarter of their AFC wildcard playoff game in Miami December 30, 2000. S

The Dolphins will continue to have the longest drought in the league without a playoff win. The last one was in 2000 for those who are keeping track.

Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray (1) passes the ball against the New York Giants during the first half at MetLife Stadium.

With Kyler Murray at QB, Justin Jefferson will leadin Viking receivers for the seventh straight seaon, and he will have more than 100 catches and close to 1,500 yards.

New England Patriots

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel signals from the sideline during the second half against the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots will not win the AFC East again, they will finish ahead of the Dolphins and Jets.

New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (12) during training camp at Ochsner Sports Performance Center.

Tyler Shough will throw for 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns. Chris Olave will catch more than 10 of those scoring passes.

New York Giants

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh watches from the sidelines during a preseason opening game between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings.

John Harbaugh's aura will not be enough to will the New York Giants to a playoff spot in his first season.

New York Jets

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith (7) warms up during training camp at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center.

Geno Smith will lead the New York Jets to the first pick in the 2027 NFL draft much in the same way he led the Raiders to that spot in 2026.

Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley (26) during training camp at Jefferson Health Training Complex.

Saquon Barkley will have more than 1,500 rushing yards and 15 combined touchdowns.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Dk Metcalf (4) runs during a practice session at Training camp at Saint Vincent College.

Mercifully, the Steelers will not make the playoffs in Aaron Rodgers' final season. The good news is DK Metcalf will have more than 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2023 in Seattle.

San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (19) walks onto the field in the third quarter during a game against the Tennessee Titans at Levi's Stadium.

Deebo Samuel will have a monster year rushing and receiving in his return to the Niners.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet (26) after the game against the Dallas Cowboys at Lumen Field.

With Kenneth Walker III off to KC, and Zach Charbonnet recovering from knee surgery, the Seahawks are going to be hard-pressed to repeat last year's total of 2,096 rushing yards. The pair was good for 1,757 of those.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles walks off the field after the game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

The Buccaneers will miss Mike Evans and will not improve on last year's 8-9 mark.

Tennesssee Titans

Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh celebrates a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers during the first quarter at Levi's Stadium.

To the surprise of no one, Robert Saleh will not have any magic in Tennessee and this team is destined for a last-place finish.

Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (5) prepares to pass a ball during a drill on day one of training camp at BigBear.ai Performance Center.

Jayden Daniels will remain healthy and will put up stats close to what he did as a rookie.
