PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Finishing in the red zone will be key for Richwoods this season. Last year head coach Jim Ulbirch said the Knights didn't have much trouble moving the ball, but they had too many drives that stalled inside the red zone and they turned it over on downs or settled for a field goal. The offense only averaged 14.5 points per game last season and Ulrich says they need to find ways to get into the endzone on a more consistent basis. "Having that physicality on the offensive line. You know, when you get down in the red zone as a defense, you like to button down and bear down. And the opponents that we played did that. And we did it on the offensive side," said Ulbirch. "And so, you know, you tip their hat to them because they were better at that point in time. But, you know, hopefully we've turned the corner in that regard. So, the goal this year is to keep moving the ball through the pass with the run and then finish. That's the goal." Richwoods opens up the season on the road against Peoria High.
