Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens will bring a discussion on leadership, teamwork and organizational culture to Cape Cod when he appears at Cape Cod Community College on Aug. 25.

The 1 p.m. event, “A Conversation with Brad Stevens,” will be held at the Tilden Center for the Arts in Barnstable, according to a community announcement. The program is expected to focus on leadership, performance under pressure and building successful teams, themes that have shaped Stevens' career in college and professional basketball.

Stevens serves as president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics and previously coached the team before moving into the front office. He is also a two-time NBA Executive of the Year.

Before joining the Celtics organization, Stevens gained national attention at Butler University, where he guided the Bulldogs to back-to-back NCAA championship game appearances.

The event is designed to give basketball fans and Cape Cod audiences an opportunity to hear Stevens discuss lessons from leadership and culture-building in professional sports.

According to the announcement, Stevens is expected to share insights about developing high-performing organizations and sustaining success in one of the most competitive environments in sports.

The appearance will serve as the finale of the Cape Cod Speaker Series' season. The series brings nationally recognized leaders and public figures to Cape Cod for conversations about issues and ideas influencing the country, according to the announcement.

Tickets are available through capecodspeakers.org.

The Cape Cod Speaker Series Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by local residents to provide cultural and educational opportunities on Cape Cod while presenting diverse voices and perspectives.

The organization hosts experts, thought leaders and public figures for conversations intended to encourage community dialogue and engagement.

A portion of ticket-sale revenue, after funds are reserved for future operations, is donated to the Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation for student financial aid.
