It’s that time of year again as player ratings begin to be announced ahead of the release of NBA 2K27. As the top 100 players continue to be revealed, former Duke Blue Devil — and, for now, Toronto Raptor — Brandon Ingram has found his place among the top-rated players. While Ingram’s future remains uncertain amid the NBA’s investigation into Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers, he will begin the season with a 2K rating of 84, regardless of where he plays. Despite a successful first season in Toronto that saw him named an All-Star for the second time in his career, Ingram’s rating saw little movement last season, peaking at 85 before returning to his original rating. Where Ingram plays next season could have an impact on how his rating changes throughout the year, but either situation could be beneficial in different ways. If the trade were to fall through and Ingram were to remain in Toronto, he would have an opportunity to build on last season’s success with a legitimate playoff team and potentially even earn another All-Star nod. However, if Ingram heads to LA, he could find himself in an even more complementary environment on the court. Last season, the Raptors ranked 21st in the league in three-point shooting, while the Clippers ranked No. 7. Even accounting for offseason roster changes, the difference in spacing between the Clippers and Raptors is considerable. Darius Garland is well-known for his impressive combination of volume and accuracy from three, while Rui Hachimura has developed into a perennial 40% shooter from deep and one of the league’s premier corner three specialists. The Clippers also have more shooting depth than the Raptors. That spacing would afford Ingram more room to operate and less congestion inside the arc, allowing one of the NBA’s premier midrange specialists — ranked as the eighth-best midrange shooter by 2K — to go to work.

Despite the uncertainty of where he will play, he at least has that much to hang his hat on.
