The 2026-27 schedule is here for the Atlanta Hawks, and fans have already started to take note of some of the highlights.
But there is a lot to sort through, so today, we're going to be breaking down the games that fans need to have circled for Atlanta in the new season.
Let's get started.
10/21 at Orlando Magic: Atlanta's season opener
We'll start with the obvious. The Hawks will open their season on Oct. 21 against the Magic on the road. It'll be the first chance to get a look at Atlanta's squad after a busy offseason.
10/24 vs. Houston Rockets: Atlanta's home opener
After a couple games on the road, the Hawks' home opener will come in their third game. It will be against a Rockets team that still has star forward Kevin Durant and others. Houston also picked up a couple of solid pieces this summer.
10/28 vs. Miami Heat: First look at Giannis' new team
It has been a hectic offseason in the NBA full of player movement, and one of the biggest dominoes fell when the Milwaukee Bucks traded two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Heat. Atlanta's first look at him with Miami will come in late October.
11/4 at Washington Wizards: Reunion with Trae
Former Hawks star Trae Young hasn't gotten a chance to play against his former team since being traded to the Wizards last season. That should change in the 2026-27 campaign, as Atlanta and Washington are scheduled to play four times. The first matchup will come in D.C. in early November.
11/6 vs. Washington Wizards: Trae comes back to Atlanta
The next matchup between the Hawks and Wizards will come just a couple of days later, marking what should be Young's first game back in Atlanta. He did come back to Atlanta last season with the Wizards but didn't play due to injury. It should be a nice homecoming this season.
11/29 at New York Knicks: First crack at last season's champs
The Knicks took the NBA world by storm by winning last season's championship. Now, they're looking to repeat, and they're going to get each team's best shot throughout the season. The Hawks' first chance to play them will come in late November.
1/4 at Philadelphia 76ers: LeBron's new squad
The 76ers have had a huge offseason, adding stars LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to throw themselves into the championship conversation. Teams are going to want to see how they stack up to Philly, and Atlanta's first shot will come in early 2027.
