The New York Jets are breathing a sign of relief after running back Breece Hall went down with a non-contact injury at practice on Monday. Hall was running after a catch when he went down to the ground without taking any contact. Any time a player suffers a non-contact injury like that, the worst is feared. However, at least initially, it appears the Jets dodged a bullet. According to head coach Aaron Glenn, Hall suffered a strained groin and the belief is that he isn’t dealing with anything significant. MORE: Jets star blasts team for NFL free agency spending Glenn did note that more evaluations need to be done. “I don’t think it was a big deal, but I want to make sure I get the evaluation on that,” he said, per SNY. “The one good thing about our players, they’re honest with their injuries. And if they can go, they can go. But we will try to be precautionary with a lot of those, to make sure that we do the right things.” This is obviously good news for Hall and the Jets. That said, groin injuries can linger and aren’t an easy injury to deal with. Breece Hall’s fantasy football outlook New York Jets running back Breece Hall (20) stretches during warmups during a preseason opening game between the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Credit: USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect (Reuters) The Jets’ offense was horrendous in 2025, but Hall still managed to rip off 1,065 rushing yards, 350 receiving yards and five total touchdowns. According to Fantasy Pros, that showing was good enough for RB19 overall in fantasy football, which made Hall a borderline RB2 option. Things should be better in 2026, which opens the door for better production for Hall, who will be running behind an ascending offensive line. MORE: Dave Portnoy ranks his top 10 NFL QBs for 2026 season Geno Smith isn’t a great quarterback by any stretch, but he’ll be better than Justin Fields. The Jets will be hoping for better health for Garrett Wilson, a leap from Adonai Mitchell, and standout showings from rookie pass-catchers like Kenyon Sadiq and Omar Cooper Jr. We mention the passing attack because a more legitimate showing from that unit will keep defenses honest and won’t allow them to key in on Hall by stacking the box. If that comes to fruition, Hall could very well be a top-10 running back in fantasy football in 2026. — Enjoy free coverage of the top news & trending stories with The Big Lead Newsletter —
