Things were incredibly easy for the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night.

They rolled to a dominant 22-0 win over the Seattle Mariners in what ended up being a blowout that Major League Baseball hasn't seen in well over a century.

That matched the largest shutout win in MLB history since the start of the 1888 campaign, according to MLB's Sarah Langs. A 22-0 win has only been seen twice since then, first by the Pirates in 1975 and by Cleveland in 2004, though both of those were done on the road.

A larger home blowout dates back to 1885, when the Giants picked up a 24-0 win. The Philadelphia Quakers also grabbed a 24-0 win in 1887, but that was on the road, too.

The Brewers had 22 total hits in the win on Tuesday, and had built up a 13-0 lead through seven innings. They dropped five runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, thanks in part to home runs from Christian Yelich, David Hamilton and Jake Bauers.

But it was the eighth inning when things really fell apart for Seattle. The Brewers put up nine runs in the frame, which turned the contest into a dominant win into the historic blowout. Luis Lara hit his first MLB home run during that stretch, too, and actually hit it off of Mariners third baseman Leo Rivas. With the game so out of hand, the Mariners turned to putting position players on the mound.

Later in the eighth, things somehow got worse for Seattle. Julio Rodríguez forgot how many outs there were and threw a live ball into the stands in the outfield after catching a fly ball, which ended up allowing two more runs in for Milwaukee.

It was, by all accounts, an awful inning for Seattle. Rodríguez looked so defeated in the outfield.

The Mariners were losing 19-0. Somehow the worst play of the game came after that with Julio Rodriguez simply not paying attention.

Bryce Miller got the start for the Mariners, though he allowed five runs and seven hits before he was pulled from the mound.

Kyle Harrison, on the other hand, allowed just two hits and had eight strikeouts in his five innings on the mound. The Mariners only managed five hits throughout the night, and had four errors. The Brewers' 22 runs matched a franchise record, too.

The Brewers now sit at 78-48 with the win, which marked their fourth in a five-game span. That's the best record throughout all of Major League Baseball, and has them ahead of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central race.

While things almost certainly won't be as easy as they were on Tuesday night, the Brewers are clearly clicking right now in Milwaukee as they enter the final stretch of the regular season. With the postseason right around the corner, that's a great spot to be in.
