With the Browns' depth chart being out, even if it is the preseason, everyone is dissecting it. They are looking at the quarterbacks, obviously, but other position battles and placement will make an impact on the team as a whole.
One of the people taking a look at things on the depth chart front is CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani. He browsed through all the depth charts and shared his thoughts on some. One group he discussed was the Cleveland Browns, and his main takeaway was that they aren't hiding their plans for their draft class.
Dajani writes, "Shoutout to the Browns, who aren't trying to hide the fact that rookies are going to play major roles for them this season. A whopping THREE first-year players were listed as starters on their first depth chart: Wide receivers Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion, and then left tackle Spencer Fano."
We saw in the first preseason game what the Browns plan to do with their rookies, which is to utilize them. Often we see teams take it easy with them, but KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston had a good amount of targets, with Concepcion finding the end zone twice.
If they can contribute and Fano makes the impact folks think he can on the line, then the Browns may finally start cooking with gas on offense.
