(FALCON, Colo.) -- The past few seasons have been a roller coaster for Falcon softball. They have traded winning seasons each of the past four years. "Freshman year through sophomore year, it was a really hard two seasons," junior Peyton Gehrke said. But with a coaching staff now entering its second fall at the helm, the Falcons are now looking to build a consistent winner by getting off on the right foot. "As soon as Coach One came in and changed the culture, it was just so cool to see the amount of girls that he brought in and how we could change it up," Gehrke said. Even with a new coaching staff coming in, the Falcons were able to finish with a 10-12 record in 2025. But now these Falcons have returning starters in pitcher Sailor Livingston and catcher Michelle Morales that will look to catapult Falcon back to a state appearance. "It's been cool to see the growth that we've had from last year to now, and all the girls that have worked in the off-season," Livingston said. "I feel like everyone is now happier to play the sport they all love." The Falcons open their season on Aug. 28 with a doubleheader against Lewis-Palmer and Pueblo East.
