JERSEY SHORE, PA(WBRE/WYOU) — The Jersey Shore Bulldogs once again start its season with high expectations for those putting on the pads in 2026. Expectations earned as Jersey Shore year after year are a team atop the standings in District IV.
“We get pushed a lot in practice to make us who we are going into Friday nights. It makes us a lot better,” said junior quarterback Nolen Pauling.
Senior running back and defensive end Zeke Sechrist continued, “It’s just exciting to get to know that teams have been good in the past. Just to understand what you have to do. It’s an expectation.”
While the past may have paved the path for the Bulldogs, this year’s team is focusing on the future. Focusing on the goals set for them in 2026.
Jersey Shore Head Coach Tom Gravish said, “We’re looking for an outstanding year. One with a lot of energy, a lot of intensity, a lot of enthusiasm, and representing our town the best way we can.”
For Jersey Shore, the best way they can means bringing home another district championship.
“We got good kids everywhere. We got a good receiving core. A good running back core. Our d-line is good, our o-line is amazing. I think we’ll be going out and looking good this year,” said Pauling
“Just looks like a fast-paced offense. Good defense. No points for the opposing team really,” added Sechrist.
For Coach Gravish, focusing on the future does not just mean 2026 either, “We don’t have as many seniors, but we’ve played a lot of kids here as freshman and sophomores over the last two years that have gained valuable experience.”
Jersey Shore’s first test comes on Friday, August 28th. The bulldogs travel to North Schuylkill for an out of district match up with the Spartans
