During a media availability on Thursday, Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston dished out high praise for her fellow All-Star Kelsey Mitchell. According to Boston, the Fever guard is “really just the MVP” who scores at a high rate.

Though Boston clearly had good intentions, Skip Bayless felt she did not do Caitlin Clark any favors.

“The more I thought about it, the less I liked it,” he said in a video on x. “Because, I ask you, exactly what good does it do for Aliyah Boston to say that publicly about Kelsey Mitchell when a lot of people out there think Caitlin Clark is making a bid for MVP?”

“As we all know, Caitlin Clark has enough issue with the rest of the league despising her. Or, at least, despising her fandom…She has enough going on without internal strife.”

This is hardly the first time that analysts have speculated about potential rifts within the Fever camp. Last week, there was plenty of buzz surrounding Fever coach Stephanie White after she appeared to defend DiJonai Carrington, who had fouled Sophie Cunningham on Saturday.

Cunningham has since stated that she stands by White, but that has not dispelled rumors of a possible rift.

“Really Annoying and Disrespectful”: Aliyah Boston Comments on Fans Booing Stephanie White

On Thursday, Aliyah Boston also commented on the recent instances of fans booing her coach during home games.

“We come out here and we do everything we can to win. I think Steph does a great job for us. We love her, and we appreciate her. So, to hear that, it was really annoying, honestly, and disrespectful.”

Boston added that she and her teammates “kept the main thing, the main thing” as they went on to defeat the New York Liberty at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
