Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark spoke frankly after her first-ever WNBA game in Canada against the Toronto Tempo.

The Fever picked up a hard-fought 101-95 win over the Tempo on Tuesday, their first-ever trip to the Coca-Cola Coliseum to face the new WNBA franchise.

The Fever and Clark seemed to enjoy most of their trip to Canada and Toronto, but there was one major shortcoming that Clark will remember as she heads back to Indiana.

Caitlin Clark wasn’t a fan of playing with no air conditioning in Toronto

Clark gave a live on-court interview after the game, revealing her disappointment at having to play in an arena with no air conditioning on a toasty August evening, which caused Kelsey Mitchell to miss the fourth quarter of the game.

“Well, maybe if Canada had air conditioning, that would be helpful. It’s a million degrees in here.”

Clark was also full of praise for the local Tempo fans who came to represent their franchise despite their inaugural season leading to a 10-24 record so far.

Clark ended the game with 24 points and seven assists, having to take on the mantle of being the sole on-ball threat in the fourth quarter with Mitchell sidelined after scoring 29 points in three quarters.

Every Tempo player to touch the court scored a point in this game, with Marina Mabrey leading the franchise with 22 points. Aneesah Morrow had an impactful 14 points and 16 rebounds to keep them in fighting distance, but the Fever’s top-end talent was too much to overcome.

This was an eventful game, as the Tempo also unveiled their new mascots with the national TV attention that the Fever brought.

The Fever improved their record to 24-12 and took the No. 3 seed from the Las Vegas Aces with their latest win. They’re two games behind the No. 2 seed with six games remaining, and they’ll continue pushing on, especially with Clark also in the running for MVP.
