The Indiana Fever had to earn their 95-91 win over the Atlanta Dream in OT, but might not have been in that position if Angel Reese put the game away in regulation.

Reese had an open layup to seal the win at the end of regulation, with the game tied 81-81, but missed it, as the Fever secured the win in OT.

Caitlin Clark’s Fever are on a hot run of form right now, but the old rivalry between Clark and Reese seemed reignited after Clark’s reaction to Reese’s miss was caught on camera.

Caitlin Clark couldn’t control her happiness after Angel Reese’s miss

The WNBA’s broadcast of the game zoomed in on Reese’s face after the buzzer went off, with the 24-year-old forward clearly upset, but everyone can also see Clark walk past her with a beaming smile.

Clark likely wasn’t laughing at Reese and was just happy to see the game go into OT, giving them another chance to win the clash.

Clark ended the game with 26 points and nine assists while Reese ended the game with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists.

The rivalry between the pair stayed quiet in this clash outside of this moment, as both the Fever and Dream are expected to be playoff teams by the end of the month.

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese might be Playoff opponents

The way the standings are set up, the Fever are the fourth-best team with a 23-12 record while the Dream are fifth with a 21-13 record.

If the WNBA regular season were to end with these positions for both teams, the Fever and Dream would meet in the first round of the 2026 WNBA Playoffs, the first WNBA postseason matchup between Clark and Reese.

Their rivalry became prominent because of an NCAA Tournament game, so with the stakes being much higher in the postseason, it’ll be fascinating to see how the contest goes.

Clark is averaging 22.0 points and 8.3 assists this season, leading the league in assists and in MVP contention, while Reese is averaging 15.6 points and 12.1 rebounds in her first season in Atlanta.
