Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers were the headliners at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday. Tyasha Harris became the Indiana Fever’s unexpected difference-maker.

Harris came off the bench and scored 15 points in only 17 minutes during Indiana’s 98-87 victory over the Dallas Wings. She attempted five shots, all from beyond the arc, and made every one of them. It was a perfectly efficient performance from a veteran whose value to the Fever has not always appeared in the box score. Afterward, Clark made sure Harris received recognition for everything she contributes.

“Ty is probably one of the best teammates I’ve had,” Clark said. “She’s always there supporting everybody, uplifting everybody. So it’s really fun to see her kind of come into her own and thrive.”

Harris made every minute count

Harris’ five 3-pointers provided a crucial boost on a night when the Fever needed help overcoming a halftime deficit. Clark carried the offense with 29 points and 10 assists. Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points, while Aliyah Boston recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Those performances were expected from Indiana’s leading players. Harris’ production gave Dallas another problem it could not afford. The Wings already had to track Clark’s shooting range, Mitchell’s scoring and Boston’s presence inside. Harris punished the available space, finishing one 3-pointer shy of matching her total number of field-goal attempts.

It was her first double-digit scoring performance since she recorded 12 points against the Seattle Storm on July 22. A reserve role can make it difficult for a player to establish rhythm. Harris demonstrated how a veteran can remain ready without knowing exactly when her opportunity will arrive.

Clark praises the work fans do not see

Clark’s compliment extended beyond Harris’ shooting.

“Whether she plays two minutes or she plays 20 minutes, she’s the same person in the locker room and shows up and works every single day,” Clark said.

That consistency matters for a Fever team preparing for a postseason run. Rotations often shrink in the playoffs, but unexpected contributors can still decide games when injuries, foul trouble or unfavorable matchups force adjustments. Harris showed she can provide that type of instant offense without demanding touches or disrupting Indiana’s established hierarchy.

The performance also highlighted the increasing depth around Clark. The Fever no longer need their star guard to score or assist on every important possession. Harris’ ability to stretch the floor gives Clark more room to operate and makes double-teams increasingly dangerous.

Indiana improved to 22-12 with its third consecutive victory and eighth win in 10 games. Clark produced another historic double-double, but her most revealing postgame comments were about someone else.

Harris waited for her opportunity, never changed her approach and delivered a flawless shooting night when Indiana needed it.

According to Clark, that professionalism is exactly what makes her one of the best teammates she has ever had.
