Following an impressive freshman season at Duke, Cameron Boozer, the recent No. 3 overall pick by the Grizzlies, is on to the NBA. Boozer impressed during NBA Summer League, leading Memphis to the finals alongside sophomore guard Cedric Coward. Thus far, Boozer and his tools have turned heads in the Grizzlies' organization. Isaiah Stewart, a six-year Detroit Pistons center who was traded to Memphis this offseason, recently spoke about Boozer, saying, “I got a chance to watch him in Summer League and see how he operates, how he practices, and I think he’s tough man. He’s very versatile, and he has a frame as a 18-year-old. He’s going to be a problem.” Not only does Boozer appear ready to impact winning at the NBA level, with the help of Stewart, his game could become even more well-rounded. Last season, Stewart was one of the league's premiere shot-blockers, averaging a career-high 1.6 rejections per contest in only 22.7 minutes per game off the bench. With Boozer having averaged just 0.6 blocks at the collegiate level last season, he could add another skill to his impressive repertoire under the tutelage of Stewart.
