The Naismith Hall of Fame is filled with players who will be remembered until the end of time. Current players are a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame. Players like Steph Curry and LeBron James are first ballot. But what about those who have yet to win a championship? Could Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid have a chance even if he reaches the pinnacle of the association in winning the Larry O’Brien trophy? Embiid should absolutely be in the Hall of Fame. There’s no need to hold the lack of a championship above his head. His accolades are more than enough to get him in. He won an MVP in 2023. Not only that, but he’s a two-time scoring champion and a seven-time All-Star with five All-NBA selections. His career isn’t over just yet.  His downfall may be the fact that he’s never made it to the Eastern Conference Final as of now. The other argument will definitely be that he was never healthy. That means absolutely nothing when it comes to the Hall of Fame. Do you know why? Because this is a player whose impact is unmatched.  So far in his 10-year career, he averages 27.6 points per game; that’s fourth in NBA history. Anyone who wants to argue he doesn’t belong must not know who’s already in. One of the biggest names to be voted in is Tracy McGraw. McGrady was a great player, and yet his accolades mirror that of Embiid. Charles Barkley is another player who many consider to be one of the best to never win a ring. He’s won an MVP just like Embiid, so does that mean he shouldn’t be in? Embiid is underrated by many as a great two-way player in an era that focuses on offense. Embiid is one of the last big men who work on both ends of the floor, and it’s shown as he’s made five All-NBA Second Teams. Everyone looks so much at championships that many forget what the person has done throughout their career.  The impact of the game should be taken into consideration when we talk about Embiid. He’s played in an era of big men who play a different style. Nikola Jokic, Victor Webanyama, and Anthony Davis. All of these guys are offensive powerhouses and make life difficult for everyone. Embiid has handled two of the three on a regular basis. Jokic is sure to make the Hall of Fame with three MVPs, and he holds a 6-2 record over him.  If you take out the championship, Embiid is sure to make the Hall of Fame. Embiid may be the last of a dying breed in the NBA as the two-way centers are beginning to fade. When Embiid retires, he’s sure to be remembered as one of the greatest 76ers to grace the floor, and maybe that will be enough to get him a bust in the Hall of Fame.
