Cardinals get concerning Jeremiyah Love injury update after preseason game originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. During the Arizona Cardinals' first preseason game of the year, following their Hall of Fame game loss, Jeremiyah Love got his chance to shine. He ran for 58 yards on 11 rushing attempts and caught three passes for 14 yards in his debut with no touchdowns and no fumbles. However, the 21-year-old first-round running back did come away with a concerning issue after this preseason game. As Josh Weinfuss of ESPN reports, Love is dealing with a sore ankle, and Mike LaFleur revealed this issue is going to cost Love next week's preseason game, and potentially beyond as well. Cardinals get concerning Jeremiyah Love injury update "Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love will be out this week as he deals with a sore ankle, Mike LaFleur said," Weinfuss reports. "LaFleur said the Cardinals will revisit Love's status after this week but he wouldn't commit to a long-term prognosis for Love." This update from LaFleur is a bit of a worrying one, as Love is going to miss the next week of practice and game action, with his future beyond that a bit of an unknown as well. While it's not a massive red flag for Love, in that LaFleur isn't revealing any serious injury update or a week-to-week diagnosis, the uncertainty is something to worry about. MORE: Cowboys QB Dak Prescott projected by ESPN to be behind Lions QB Jared Goff for HOF chance Love, who had a promising NFL debut during the preseason with the Cardinals, is now going to miss a little bit of time due to this ankle injury. Tyler Allgeier, James Conner, and Trey Benson will get the bulk of the work with Love now sidelined. Zonovan Knight, Corey Kiner, and Evan Hull will also see plenty of work during the upcoming preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, the Cardinals are slated to be without Love for a little while, as the No. 3 overall pick is dealing with an ankle injury, and the Cardinals are playing it safe by holding him out ahead of the regular season.
