We all knew it. Coach Mike LaFleur told us after the game. Something bad was expected, as it does every game it seems.

Rookie offensive guard Chase Bisontis tore his left MCL during the preseason contest against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

It’s why Cardinals fans can’t have nice things. No matter what changes are made for the better, something bad- or worse- happens. How many players were on IR last year? 24? There was a complete starting team out each week on that list in 2025.

#AZCardinals second-round OL Chase Bisontis, one of their promising young players, suffered a torn MCL that requires surgery against the #Raiders, per me and @MikeGarafolo. Only the MCL will be repaired.

Prior to April’s NFL draft, GM Monti Ossenfort was going to select an offensive lineman in the draft. It was a given. The spectulation was that he was going to snag Miami OT Francis Mauigoa with the third overall pick. T’hen health issues scared off some NFL GMs, and perhaps Ossenfort who then took Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love with that pick.

Arizona had the second pick in Round 2, and after the San Francisco 49ers traded up with the New York Jets to select Ole Miss WR De’Zhaun Stribling with the #33 spot, Ossenfort took Bisontis out of Texas A&M to compete for the right guard position. Since training camp began, he has been in a dogfight with veteran Isaiah Adams for the starting role, but was entrenched with the second team in the Hall of Fame Game last weekend.

The injury will require surgery. It is not known at this time if the injury is season-ending or not.

Listed on the depth chart behind Adams now will be Oli Udoh (6’-6”, 325 pounds), who is a seven-year veteran who was drafted in Round 6 of the 2019 draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He has played in 74 NFL games with 22 starts. Last year he started three games with the Tennessee Titans.
