Carr still absent as Cas bring in Robinson to help

Luke Robinson had a brief loan spell with Castleford Tigers as a player in 2004 [Getty Images] Castleford Tigers have brought in former Huddersfield Giants head coach Luke Robinson to assist the team during Ryan Carr's continuing absence. Carr missed last week's heavy home defeat by Hull KR for "personal reasons" and the Tigers have said he will not be at Friday's game at Hull FC. Robinson was sacked as Huddersfield coach earlier this season after they lost their first five Super League games. Director of Rugby Chris Chester is leading the team while Carr is away and owner Martin Jepson said in a statement that Robinson would not be taking on the job of head coach. Earlier on Thursday, Chester told BBC Radio Leeds the club were not "actively" looking for a replacement for the Australian. On Carr's future he said: "There's a process that we're following and we're fairly hopeful it will come to a conclusion over the weekend or the start of next week." He added: "We want to bring someone in to assist and help out around training to allow me to do my day-to-day job. "I can't afford to spend a great deal of time out on the field so we are going to need some help, some bodies." Carr was appointed Tigers head coach on a three-year deal last August after a spell as assistant at NRL side St George Illawarra Dragons.
