We all know the Celtics have had star players over the years, such as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who do most of the heavy lifting, but the role players and supporting cast have done their part as well.
It's arguably just as important to have quality players off the bench and around the stars, as it's a team sport that teams rarely find success in when only one or two players thrive.
The Celtics have mastered the supporting cast role/s well in the past, and they'll need it now more than ever in the 2026-27 season, with changes to the roster having taken place this summer.
Celtics Have an Incredible Record When This Bench Player Scores 10+ Points
The Celtics are going to rely on getting production from players like Payton Pritchard and Derrick White this season, but they'll need their second unit to bring something to the table while some of the big names rest.
One of those players they'll need production from is Sam Hauser, and history says when he plays well, the Celtics as a team do too.

It's been as simple as 10 points a night from Hauser to help get the Celtics over the finish line with a win.
In his career, the Celtics have a record of 90-19 in the regular season when Hauser scores 10+ points in a game.
He won't be the only player Boston will look to for help this season, but he's going to be one of the first few players off the bench for Boston.
The Celtics still have a record of 153-72 when Hauser scores under 10 points, but that's a drop from a win percentage of 82.6% to 68.0%.

It's still good, but there seems to be a correlation between the Celtics winning a large chunk of their games and Hauser having a productive night off the bench.
In the Celtics' championship season in 2024, Hauser averaged 9.0 points in 22 minutes, which is around what they'll be hoping to get this upcoming season again.
