Rookie Arizona Cardinals guard Chase Bisontis got hurt in the team's 27-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday. It looks like a serious knee injury for the Cardinals' second-round pick. Bisontis appeared to have a played roll up on his left leg, and he had to be assisted from the field. After the game, head coach Mike LaFleur said the injury was "not good." They would need to complete more testing, but it certainly seemed like a long-term injury, perhaps a torn ACL. "They obviously have to do the MRI and stuff like that, but there's definitely something down there, whether it's ACL or MCL," LaFleur said. The Cardinals already have their fourth-round pick, defensive lineman Kaleb Proctor, on injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury. He tore his meniscus in the offseason program. Bisontis was expected to compete for the starting right guard job. He had not yet overtaken Isaiah Adams, but this certainly solidifies Adams' role. If Bisontis must be placed on injured reserve, that opens the door for another interior lineman to make the final roster. Hayden Conner, drafted in the sixth round last year, would perhaps be that guy. Injuries are a part of the game, but the Cardinals seem to have particularly bad luck with them and their young players. LaFleur will speak to reporters on Saturday, so we will likely know more about the severity of Bisontis' injury.
