Chicago Bears vs. Cleveland Browns Preseason Game Discussion

It’s the preseason opener for the Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns!

When these two teams last met, Chicago intercepted Cleveland quarterback Shedeur Sanders three times as they rolled to a 31-3 Week 15 win in their most lopsided game of 2025. Sanders will see some action today, but it won’t be until the third quarter, as they are having a quarterback competition. The returning Deshaun Watson, who hasn’t played in a regular-season game since October 20, 2024, will start and play the first half.

The Bears will sit most of their starters, so we’ll get Tyson Bagent at quarterback. In his last preseason action, he went 20 of 28 for 212 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a 128.9 passer rating as he led the Bears to 19 fourth-quarter points and a 29-23 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Bagent may not play long enough to put up 29 passes, but he will be starting against Cleveland’s number one defense, so these will be important reps for him.
