Kansas City Chiefs running back Emmett Johnson spoke with reporters in the locker room following the preseason Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He reflected on the team's mistakes during the day and his experience in his first career NFL game. "It was good—a lot of lessons to learn. But overall, just a good experience being out there with the teammates," said Johnson. "But unfortunately, I wanted to get that win. So, that's the part I hate is losing."

"Yeah, I'm sure we're gonna hear a lot about the penalties. Unfortunately, as I said, we can't be having all those penalties," said Johnson. "But we just gotta learn from it and grow and get better because we had some possessions where we could have gone down there and scored and got held back by penalties. So not just them, but including me, I could be better as well." Johnson finished the game with 59 rushing yards on 12 carries and 3 catches for 10 yards out of the backfield.
