On Aug. 14, the Indiana Fever ripped out a 98-87 victory over the Dallas Wings. Following the Fever’s success, star guard Caitlin Clark splurged on her teammates in celebration.

Indiana has been navigating a tough stretch of games lately, making the surprise all the more heartwarming.

Caitlin Clark Surprises Teammates With Gifts Following Latest Victory

James Boyd of The Athletic recently shared a video on social media, showing the gifts Clark picked out for her teammates. The 24-year-old guard set aside “several pairs of Nikes, including her CC1s.”

As Boyd noted, the caption stated, “Christmas came early.”

The celebratory presents came after the Fever surged ahead in the fourth quarter against the Wings on Friday. As expected, Clark led Indiana with 29 points, while Paige Bueckers matched the production with 29 for the Wings.

Bueckers is in the midst of her second season, and so far, she is averaging 20.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game. This was one of her most productive games so far this year.

By the end of the night, Clark had also posted 3 rebounds, 10 assists, and 1 steal, while shooting 61.1% from the floor. She recorded just one turnover.

She currently leads the WNBA in assists (8.3 per game) and averages 21.9 points per game, which places her third in the league. Considering this is only her third season playing professional basketball, this is undeniably an impressive feat.

Clark was the No. 1 overall pick back in 2024 after playing an illustrious collegiate career at the University of Iowa.

During her rookie campaign, she averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game. She shot 41.7% from the floor.

The following year, Clark wrapped up her second campaign, averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, shooting 36.7% from the floor. The sample size that year was quite slim, as she was limited to 13 games due to a succession of injuries.

Now on a three-game winning streak, Indiana is looking to extend its record in its next clash against the Atlanta Dream. The Fever-Dream matchup is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. ET.

For reference, Atlanta is currently riding a 21-12 overall record, which places them fifth in the WNBA standings. The Fever has just barely edged them out at 22-12, landing them in fourth.

As Indiana navigates its remaining August schedule and approaches the fall run, the team will be looking to extend its winning streak and improve its overall record, aiming to climb in the standings.

Time is dwindling before the postseason is here.
